GIVING

Dear Friends of Cal Poly Club Sports,

The Cal Poly Club Sports have completed their 2008 season. And what a season it was! The Field Hockey team won California State Championships. The Fencing Team hosted their annual Turkey Tournament and placed 1st of ten teams. In November, the Men’s Water Polo team beat Arizona State to advance to the National Championship game, unfortunately losing to Michigan State in the finals.

Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo holds the honor of one of the top sport programs in the nation, sponsoring 22 various teams. Each is run and organized by student members, overseen by Student Life & Leadership, and receives limited funding through ASI Student Government allocations. Funds are needed to pay the coaches and referees, purchase equipment, and attend tournaments.

We are very proud of our teams, and would like to ask for your support. The funds will be placed into an overall Club Sports pool, and used to assist those teams or individuals that advance to State, Regional or National Championships. Allocations will be made with oversight provided by the Sports Club Council and Student Life & Leadership. We ask you to help the team by contributing to this endowment.
