The commencement ceremonies for June 2012
will be held on two days, Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10. (See detailed schedule above.)
The main ceremonies are held outdoors in
Spanos Stadium, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on each day and last
just under two hours.
Post-commencement events are held following each main ceremony in
different locations around campus. They are organized by the graduate's
college or department and vary in length depending on the number of
graduates participating. For more specific information about these
events, please contact the college directly.
Grad Days are scheduled for April 17-20, 2012, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at El Corral Bookstore. Graduation
announcements, class rings and invitations can be ordered and senior portraits can be scheduled.
The Grad Center opens Thursday, May 17, 2012 in El Corral Bookstore. Candidates pay the $50.00 commencement fee, obtain 10 guest tickets
and detailed instructions, and purchase caps and gowns. Check with Customer Service, El Corral Bookstore 756-5321 for the hours of the
Grad Center and questions regarding commencement tickets, fees, or academic reglia.
The Grad Center issues 10 guest tickets only to eligible candidates paying the commencement fee in person. Guest admission is by ticket only. Additional tickets
will NOT be available. Candidates not needing all of their tickets are encouraged to give extras to those who need more.
COMMENCEMENT PARTICIPATION ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to participate in commencement ceremonies, the student
must submit a "Request for Graduation Evaluation" form to the Office of
the Registrar. Students who indicate, on the
form, that they plan to complete all degree requirements in the winter, spring or summer
quarters are eligible to walk in the June commencement ceremonies.
NOTE: SUBMITTING THE "REQUEST FOR GRADUATION EVALUATION" MAKES THE STUDENT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE
IN CEREMONIES ONLY. IT IS NOT A GUARANTEE THAT THE STUDENT WILL GRADUATE WITH A DEGREE FROM CAL POLY.
Degree attainment is pending review of the academic file after final grades for the last enrolled
quarter are released. Students with questions concerning their eligibility to participate in commencement
may contact the Office of the Registrar, Administration Bldg., Room 222, 756-2396.
